You can move objects by dragging them on the Stage, cutting and pasting them, by using the arrow keys, and by specifying an exact location in the Object inspector. You can also move objects between Flash and other applications by using the Clipboard. You can copy objects by dragging or pasting them, or while transforming them.
To move an object or a copy of an object by dragging:
1 | Select an object. You can also select multiple objects. |
2 | Position the pointer over the object and drag to the new position. To move a copy of the object, Alt-drag (Windows) or Option-drag (Macintosh). To constrain movement of the object multiples of 45° , Shift-drag. |

When moving an object, you can use the Snap modifier to quickly align it with points on other objects. See Snapping.
To move an object by using the arrow keys:
1 | Select an object. You can also select multiple objects. |
2 | Press the arrow key for the direction in which you want the object to move by 1 pixel. Press Shift+arrow key to move the selection by 8 pixels. |

1 | Select an object. You can also select multiple objects. |
2 | Open the Object inspector (Window > Inspectors > Object). |
3 | Enter values for the location of the top left corner of the selection. The units are set in Movie Properties and are relative to the top left corner of the Stage. |
